As you know, the Eternal City was not built in a day and therefore you can not even see it all in only one day! But we want to help you focus what to visit, with a few hours available.
There are some unmissable places in Rome. One of these is undoubtedly the Colosseum, the ancient symbol of the city and the Fori Imperiali.
Other important places to see in Rome without having to make long lines are the Trevi Fountain (with the famous coin-toss), Piazza di Spagna (a picture on the famous staircase is a must), Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo, on the beautiful long-Tiber.
Another symbol of Rome is St. Peter's Basilica of the Vatican City: visiting the square where every Sunday the Pope faces and being surrounded by the embrace of the famous colonnade is an experience not to be missed.
And let's not forget the Vatican Museums, with the Sistine Chapel.
Another place, another symbol: Piazza Venezia, where is the Altare della Patria and the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
